Hunter Leininger the youngest racer to go Sea 2 Sea

We've know young Hunter Leininger since he began his adventure racing career as a seven year-old. With his dad Jeff, he's taken on some of the hardest races we offer and some of the hardest races anyone else has as well.

This year he takes on his greatest challenge yet trying to become the youngest racer to complete a three-day expedition at the 72 hour Sea 2 Sea AR.

Hunter and his dad had a chance to talk about this recently on News 4 in Jacksonville. Check out the video below and follow along as the team crosses the state. Also check out his Facebook page for more information about his adventure racing career.

UPDATE: Hunter and his team successful crossed the state at the 2014 Sea 2 Sea AR and did so in grand fashion collecting 58 of a possible 72 CPs in 65 hours 18 minutes good for 11th place.
Never seeming to be any worse off than the other adults racing, Hunter proved to be just as able as the rest of the field. A great showing and we're sure a sign of even better things to come.
Listen to Hunter and his dad Jeff on the TA1 podcast recounting the race.
Here is a post-race note from Hunter's Facebook page:
"Wow, what a ride. Months of training, hard work and the race itself is now over. As we look back now after hours of recovery sleep some of the best moments for Hunter was nighttime single track, Dunkin Donuts open at 4am on the first cold night, trekking through Ocala National Forest, fast open road biking, Bryan's BBQ for dinner on the last night and the run down the beach to the finish. He was very positive the whole time and pushed both Lynna and I to move faster. We finished 11th place out of 24 adult teams and now his goal is to win. After 65 hours and three days Hunter Leininger is now the official World Record Holder for the youngest to complete a 3-day Expedition race. What comes next is up to him."
