LOCATION INFO: The Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run is one of the few remaining near-pristine riverine systems in central Florida, and its paddle run has been rated number one in Central Florida. An extensive floodplain of hardwood forest, approximately three miles wide in some areas, provides natural habitat for a diverse array of wildlife including several designated as endangered, threatened, or of special concern. This is how Central Florida looked when the Timucauan Indians fished and hunted these lands.
